BE SAFE: Protecting Our People, Our Customers, and Our Communities
December 2025
At Border Express, safety isn’t just a policy -it’s one of our core values.
Our “BE SAFE” value, means we look after one another, so everyone goes home safely to their families each day.
That commitment extends to every part of our operation – from our warehouses to the open road, and right up to your doorstep. It’s why our drivers must follow clear safety procedures, including one important rule: they cannot bring parcels inside your home.
This isn’t about inconvenience – it’s about care, responsibility, and ensuring that safety remains at the heart of everything we do.
Why Safety Comes First:
1. Protecting our people
Every driver in our network faces different environments every day – driveways, stairs, pets, slippery surfaces, uneven ground, or tight spaces. Entering private homes introduces unpredictable risks that could lead to injuries.
By keeping deliveries at the threshold (doorstep, porch, or loading area), we minimise hazards and ensure our team can continue doing their jobs safely and confidently.
2. Supporting consistency and care
Safety practices protect not only our team but also our customers. By following a consistent process, we avoid confusion, delays, and unnecessary risks. This approach helps ensure your parcels arrive reliably and without incident – because caring for safety means caring for service quality too.
3. Shared responsibility
We believe safety is a shared value between Border Express, our customers, and the communities we serve. When everyone understands and respects safe delivery zones, it helps us uphold our promise: that every team member returns home safely at the end of the day.
How You Can Help Us BE SAFE:
- Create a safe, accessible drop-off area.
Keep paths clear of obstacles and hazards such as pets, wet surfaces, or loose materials. This small step makes a big difference in preventing injuries and ensuring efficient deliveries. - Provide clear instructions in advance.
If access is restricted or complex – for example, gated entries, loading docks, or special delivery windows – let us know beforehand. The more we know, the better we can plan for safety. - Be understanding of our boundaries.
When a driver can’t bring freight inside, it’s not a refusal of service – it’s a demonstration of care and professionalism. We follow this rule so no one’s wellbeing is compromised.
Safety Is Personal:
Every time a driver climbs into their truck, they’re not just representing Border Express – they’re parents, partners, sons, and daughters, heading home to someone who cares about them.
Our BE SAFE value is our promise to them, and to you: that safety will always guide our actions.
So when we deliver to your door and stop at the threshold, know that it’s not where the care ends – it’s exactly where it begins.
Together, we can keep everyone safe and ensure every journey ends with everyone arriving home safely, not just over the festive season, but every day.
